Memurai for Redis 8 RC3: Preview Redis 8.2-Compatible AI on Windows Ahead of GA

Announcing the release of Memurai for Redis 8 Release Candidate 3 (RC3), delivering Redis 8.2-compatible AI memory and performance to Windows ahead of our general availability (GA) release.

Users can now run Redis workloads with RediSearch and RedisJSON natively on Windows, bringing powerful full-text and structured queries, secondary indexing, and rich JSON document storage to their existing infrastructure. Building on this foundation, they can access advanced AI memory features such as vector search, RAG, and machine learning data structures on Windows without compromising compliance, existing infrastructure, or managing cross-platform complexity, while enhanced performance and improved data structures benefit all application workloads.

RC3 includes all planned GA features and is designed for development teams, system architects, and early adopters who want to validate Memurai for Redis 8 in their Windows environments before committing to production deployments.

What to Expect in RC3

With RC3, you can:

• Use RediSearch natively on Windows to run powerful full-text and structured queries and build secondary indexes.
• Use RedisJSON natively on Windows to interact with rich JSON documents.
• Build semantic search and recommendation features using Redis 8-compatible vector operations on top of RediSearch.
• Use Vector Sets, a separate Redis 8-compatible module, to power vector similarity search on Windows.
• Prototype RAG systems for short- and long-term memory in Windows applications, combining Redis JSON for document storage with Redis Search for fast context retrieval.
• Experiment with semantic caching to improve LLM response times and exercise performance optimizations and data structures for broader workloads.

At Memurai, we're using the RC3 testing period to:

• Gather feedback on real-world Windows deployment scenarios.
• Validate performance and stability across diverse enterprise environments.
• Address any platform-specific edge cases before GA.

System Requirements and Limitations

Memurai for Redis 8 RC3 supports all Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop versions, including Windows Server 2016 and later, and Windows 10 and later.

RC3 is solely for evaluation and testing and is not recommended for production. RC3 follows RC1 and RC2, and will now take their place. Users running Memurai 4.2.3 or earlier should not upgrade production instances to RC3. Instead, set up a separate testing environment.

The GA release of Memurai for Redis 8 will incorporate feedback and improvements from RC3 adopters.
